View from the 6th street bridge |
Unfortunately, the only “seats” available were standing room. This was a packed house. It is too bad that Jack's friend didn't come through with the tickets for the game he told us he could get. PNC is truly a beautiful stadium with enthusiastic fans. The views are fabulous. Before going inside we talked to some guys who had driven their boat to the game and parked on the river. Pittsburgh is where the Allegheny, Monogohela come together to form the Ohio which eventually runs into the Mississippi.

Amazing view |
The Pirates scored first and never lost their lead, although the Phillies tried to come back in the 8th. They had the bases loaded with no one out and couldn't get him in. Hmmm, familiar for us Mariner fans. After the game they had a country rock band give a free concert in the stadium, Big and Rich. We stayed for about 4 numbers and then left for Wholefoods to buy a salad for dinner. Back to Al and Genny's for some visiting. Al invited us to share our Unbound information at his Bible study group the next morning.
