Day 68
We walked to Al's church with him this morning and met with his Bible study group. He kindly introduced us, told them about our trip and they graciously listened to our presentation on Unbound. We brought the notebook with all our letters from Yessica, told him about our mission awareness trip to Merida and told them about our attempts to get 30 kids sponsored in 30 ballparks. The leader was the rector's wife who said she would pass the information on to her husband who happens to be a big baseball fan. After the Bible study, we attended services with Al in the beautiful and historic St. Andrew's. Later we drove up to Mt Washington which is the highest point in Pittsburgh which looks out over the city.

There are 446 bridges in Pittsburgh! This is more than Venice, Italy. One of them is the Smithfield Street Bridge it is at the foot of the Monongahela Incline and is one of the oldest steel bridges in the country, first opening in 1883 and is a National Historic Landmark. Driving in Pittsburgh is a bit complicated. Because the city is old and surrounded by rivers and bridges, the roads are slow with many stop signs, narrow roads, turns, meanders and traffic. It is beautiful however, with many historic homes and very large churches. The homes seem very large everywhere we were. We drove back to our hosts' home and spent the afternoon doing laundry and blogging. They invited us to have dinner with them so we had some more conversation about their very interesting lives.
