We arrived in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 24. It was great to see my Mom and Darrell. It has been a long time. They seemed pleased that we were planning on being around for awhile. The first day we did a walk around Wood Lake Nature Center which is where they go to walk. Nice place right in the city full of birds, ducks and other wildlife.
On Wednesday we met my Uncle Corny and Aunt Judy at the Anoka County Fair where we.wandered
around all the exhibits, it is a small fair but fun.
Mostly 4-H type displays, animals, watched a bunch of 4-H kids performing a singing and acting Olympic skit. Watched the young horseback riders, ate gyro’s, ice cream. We were going to watch the mutton busting. Thought it was at 6 but after waiting until then we realized it wasn’t until half time of the bull riding which did not start until 7. It was so hot and humid and we were tired so elected to skip the bull riding.
I am looking forward to heading up to Hackensack on Friday to the cabin on the lake that has been in my family for over 50 years.
