We are terribly behind on the blog but wanted to post a current listing to let y'all know how stupid we are to drive into the eye of the Hurricane! Well, not exactly the eye but close. When we were in Arkansas we heard it was going to Florida, so we headed to Louisiana! Stupid, stupid, stupid! Actually everything is ok here. We slept in northern Louisiana 2 nights ago in a laundry room of a campground! We are such high class travelers, 5 star, 1st class! We did have the laundry room to ourselves and it did have air conditioning. Haha! Oh and did I tell you about the moths and beetles? Oh well, we are safe and sound. We headed to Monroe and fortunately were able to contact ATC folks in Brandon, Mississippi which is just outside of Jackson and stayed last night. We were going to take off today for who knows where, when they offered for us to stay an extra night. Even the Vicksburg National Battlefield is closed today due to weather. Lots of rain and wind but so far no tornadoes here and obviously we have power, so life is good. The kindness of the people in our travel club is unbelievable. The folks we stayed with in Arkansas called to make sure we were ok once they heard the news about where the hurricane was. They were very impressed with our high class accomodations in the laundry room! Not sure where we are going tomorrow, but this time we will make sure to check and see where Isaac actually is. We have signed up to volunteer with hurricane recovery but not sure we will be contacted. We miss you all and hope you are all well. Enjoy your 72 degree weather, it's kinda hot down here!
