Dear my faithful blog readers,
As you know, I am terribly behind in my posts due to multiple games, major cities, many miles and limited time. I should add we are having a terrific time. I will try to get back on track!

Day
46
We
got up at 5 and left quietly, we hope without waking the dog. We
traveled through 7 states to get to Boston and paid $46.00 in tolls
and that was with rejecting the last stretch of toll roads which was
undoubtedly stupid as we were delayed for well over an hour. We
westerners are simply not used to paying to drive unless we cross
bridges. It probably is a good way to fund road repair but some of
the toll roads were the worst roads we have traveled on. One stretch
of about 5 miles had enormous potholes that you could lose a tire in.
Go figure. With a few stops, it took us 9 hours to get to Boston.
We read about the historic Fenway on the way. We were happy to
arrive in Cambridge at our next hosts home, Janet and John. We
decided to go out for a walk after meeting them and bringing in our
stuff and wandered the neighborhood. There is a large Portuguese
population in their section of Cambridge with a restaurant that they
recommended. We went back to their house for wine and snacks and got
acquainted. They are very interesting people, both had served in the
Peace Corps in Senegal and still go to Senegal annually. Janet is
the founder of Intercultural Dimensions, Inc and arranges cultural
experiences that are tailored to an individuals interest for 5 people
in sunny Senegal in January. Their next trip is actually in January
of 2017 as she is taking a year off. Visit
www.interculturaldimensions.org
for details. John was a poverty law attorney and now does pro bono
work for people needing political asylum. It is an honor to meet
these two people who have spent their lives helping people. John's
very interesting blog can be found at http://john-hand.blogspot.com
They also told us how they like to travel with their bikes visiting
various Rails to Trails routes. Janet and John had a dinner
engagement so we ventured out and had dinner at Za that offered
gourmet pizza and salads.

Day

We
got up early and went to 7:30 mass at St. Paul's Catholic church
right near Harvard. There were very few people at the service but
they were having the baccalaureate Mass for Harvard later at the
11:00 service. The priest was busy after the service so we were
unable to talk to him about Unbound. After Mass we walked around
Harvard. They were setting up for graduation, hanging banners,
setting up chairs for the festivities. We returned to Janet and
John's for a terrific breakfast and then headed out toward historic Fenway.
