Happy Mother's Day! Manuela from Columbia sponsored

We are so happy to tell the Mother's Day story of 4 year old Manuela from Columbia becoming sponsored.  Jack's good friend, Jim Ehlers decided to get a different kind of Mother's Day gift for his wife, Missy.  They have sons and Missy always wanted a daughter, so Jim decided a month ago to sponsor a girl as a gift for his wife. Jim emailed us, " We got to know a high school exchange student this year from Colombia so I think it is karma."
Jodi thinks that is the most amazing and touching Mother's Day gift she has ever heard of.  Way to go Jim!

A prayer for moms
Being a mom is a tough job, no matter where you are. There's always something to worry about, whether it's wondering if the kids are going to do well in school or being concerned they're going to catch the latest flu bug going around the community.
For moms living in poverty, these worries might look a bit different. They may wonder how they're going to feed their children, how they're going to pay the doctor if someone gets sick, or how they're going to afford elementary school fees for their little ones.
But despite the worries, these moms also have a lot of joy and big dreams for their children. Through Unbound, mothers are seeing those dreams come true, from putting nutritious food on the table to watching their kids graduate high school.
And these moms are making a big impact outside their families. They support each other through mothers groups, create jobs by opening small businesses and help run the Unbound programs in their communities, either by volunteering or becoming staff members. We're thankful for all the moms in the Unbound world and the hard work they do for their families and communities on a daily basis.
