Life
is funny sometimes how it works. We were headed into the Marlins
game with our usual camera, extra lens, empty water bottle, cell
phone, etc. We get to security and a young woman was checking my
bag. I think it might have been her first day on the job. She told
me I could only take in one camera lens and could not take in my
water bottle. I tried reasoning with her a little, telling her we
had been to 10 MLB ballparks and no one had turned away my empty
water bottle or extra camera lens. No luck. So back to our car we
go. Although I was hot and thirsty and dreading having to pay $6.00
for water or running to the drinking fountain all night, I was more
annoyed about my camera lens. Upon our return, I decided to go to
guest services and ask what the deal was with the camera lens. No
one at the desk knew why, so they called a very professional young
man over, Karl. He said the camera lens should not have been turned
away but the water bottle was an MLB policy. He very graciously
walked us back to our car, so I could retrieve my camera lens and
then got us back in. We told him about our trip and he seemed really
interested so we told him all about Unbound and showed him
Giancarlo's photograph. He told us that he thought it was a great
idea and he was going to talk to someone in the appropriate place to
see if he could help. Although no help came at the game, we are
hopeful that Karl can help spread the word. Then a lovely couple sat
next to us and we were able to talk to them as well. She took all
our information about Unbound, so maybe she too will help spread the
word or decide to become a sponsor. Her name was Joali and she is originally from Venezuala. We have found getting sponsors
at the ballpark a little challenging but this was a great day at the
beautiful Marlins ballpark.
Giancarlo Stanton, the Marlins player that represents 5 year old Giancarlo hit 2 home runs tonight to the Marlins fans delight!.

The other interesting thing about tonight is that the Braves starting pitcher was Julio Teheran. He represents Juliana who also still needs a sponsor. We did not see him pitch in Atlanta, but got to see him here.
